Some of the illustrations are of scenes that no longer exist, some are my initial response to events that ultimately became the subject for major paintings exhibited in the UK and further afield.”

Yorkshire born artist, Phil Hobbs has lived and worked as a painter in the English Lake District for nearly 50 years. Working predominantly in pure watercolour, he has participated in many national exhibitions and held a number of solo shows in the UK and the USA.

He is a past President and an Honorary life member of the Lake Artists Society.
