My Dad’s Army-The White Gurkhas
The story of the 9th Battallion of the Border Regiment
Ian Wilson was born in 1947, but he talked to his father who had served with 9th Border about his WWII experiences in Burma.
It was from these accounts that he drew together the men of the 9th Border for an annual reunion and his gift of listening to their stories subsequently led to this book being written. He also produced a newsletter for them called ‘Thik Hai’, an Indian Army greeting they were all familiar with. The last reunion was held in Carlisle Castle in 2004.
