Lambing at Hill Farm

Andrea Meanwell’s new book is aimed at young people but I’m sure will be enjoyed by everyone. Set in the Howgills, part of the Yorkshire Dales, we keep a watchful eye on the ewes ready to lamb, especially when it snows. All the adventures are in this book beautifully illustrated by Shelagh McNicholas.

After graduating Andrea worked for ten years as a primary school teacher in schools in the South Lakes, before having her own children and starting a hill farm in the Howgills. She now farms in the Yorkshire Dales in partnership with one of her sons, and works for the National Trust as the Lakes Future Farming Partnership Manager.
