Frizington
Much More Than One Long Street
£7.00
Frizington, by 1866, had experienced an explosion of population with the opening up of iron-ore mines, quarries, coal mines and the railways. Workers came from far and wide and houses had to be hastily built to accommodate them.
‘I’ve a coach house capable of accommodating half a dozen vehicles under cover and for stabling a dozen horses. It’s the oldest license house in Frizington and has the reputation of being the best hostelry in the district.’
