This is the story of the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment from 1945 when the regiment’s origins were infact the King’s Own Royal Regiment and the Border Regiment, through 1959 (when they amalgamated) ’til today, 2006.
It chronicles the history of the Regiment’s Regular and Territorial Battalions and their soldiers who, throughout those 47 years, established an outstanding reputation during their service and operations at home, and all over the world. Using 450 photographs, this book presents a comprehensive record of its history and service, and which took the Regiment to the Cameroons, Germany, British Guiana, the Middle East, Aden, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Belize, Bosnia, and Macedonia, Afghanistan and, most recently, Iraq.
