Moota – Camp 103

The story of Moota Prisoner of War Camp, and the men who lived there, is a part of West Cumbria’s history. Many people may already have heard of the beautiful chapel and its artwork created by German POWs, but other aspects of life at the camp and the part it played in the life of the local area have been largely unexplored until now.

This book is an attempt to remedy that through its collection of memories, photographs and information, some from people who spent time in the camp and some from people who lived in the local area at the time.
