Selected Poems of Susanna Blamire
£10.00
Susanna Blamire was born in 1747 at Cardew Hall, near Dalston, Cumberland. She became a fine poet writing everything from popular dialect songs such as ‘The Siller Croun’ to long narrative poems.
‘Stoklewath’ (Stockdalewath) is an account of rural life in north Cumberland that ranks alongside the best of eighteenth century poetry.
Dr. Christopher Maycock, Susanna’s biographer, has written an extended introduction.
