The story of the Alhambra cinema begins with a notice in the West Cumberland Times in June 1913. The Directors of the company were local people, entrepreneurs with a good combination of business sense and a knowledge of the new-fangled cinema industry.

This book tells the history of the Keswick Alhambra Cinema from its birth in 1914 up to the centenary celebrations of the cinema’s opening.
