In 1974 Westmorland was wiped from the map and swallowed up by the newly formed county of Cumbria.

The ‘lost county’ did not die, however, it lived on in the hearts of its people. This film is a unique look back to the old days. from packhorses and stagecoaches to the coming of the railways the atmosphere of this great county is brought to life once again.
