An Afternoon in Carlisle with Helen Rebanks

Saturday October 7th, 2.30pm  (Doors open 2.00pm)

The Tithe Barn, Carlisle

You are invited to join Helen Rebanks in conversation with BBC Radio Cumbria’s Helen Millican as both Helens talk about her debut book, The Farmer’s Wife.
In the middle of Matterdale there’s a busy working family farm with a farmhouse at its centre and at the very heart of that farmhouse is the kitchen – the pulse and focal point around which everything revolves. It’s where farming decisions are made, where the business is run from, where family-life is lived  and it’s where Helen Rebanks cooks the food that fuels the entire operation. Weaving the past and present lives of her family, Helen shares the days at that  farm which have shaped her, be those days joyous, wonderful or just an awful grind!

Following their discussion there will be time for everyone to meet Helen, get books signed and have tea, coffee & biscuits in the Tithe Barn
