As Luck Would Have It

Born and bred in industrial West Yorkshire, Peter Roebuck, who now lives in Penrith, has spent all his working life as an economic and social historian: in universities at Hull and Leicester, at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, and at the New University of Ulster at Coleraine in Northern Ireland; and, following NUU’s merger with the Ulster Polytechnic in 1984, he held senior positions in the merged institution until his retirement in 2006. Since then he has continued into research and writing into his ninth decade.
