The Loving Eye and Skilful Hand

The Keswick School of Industrial Arts

Ian Bruce

£15.00

The Keswick School of Industrial Arts occupies an important place in the Arts and Crafts movement. Inspired by John Ruskin and founded by Canon and Edith Rawnsley, it revivified old craft traditions in the Lake District. Craftsmen such as Harold Stabler, Isobel McBean and Herbert Maryon became leading figures in English Arts and Crafts. This is the first detailed study of the School. It will be of interest to local and art historians and collectors.

Ian Bruce is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a lifelong enthusiast for Arts and Crafts, He is a significant collector of Arts and Crafts metalwork and has a comprehensive collection of Keswick school work.
