7.30pm, Tuesday 13th May, Cakes & Ale Cafe
£8.00 – £24.00
Tuesday 13th May, 7.30pm
Cakes & Ale Cafe, Carlisle
Alan Cleaver’s new book, The Postal Paths, looks at the routes walked six days a week in all weathers by rural postman. Since the 1970s, the routes have been served by vans but the postman’s paths still remain and are public footpaths. Alan will talk about the Cumbrian paths, the people who walked them – and whether the handwritten letter will even survive in the digital age. He is joined by Cumbrian artist Mark Richards who has illustrated the book.
Tickets: £8 (includes a drink. £5 redeemable against book on the night)
£24 (includes a copy of the book and a drink)
Please note – This is an e-ticketed event and books can be collected on the night or beforehand from Bookends Carlisle.
