Walk The John Dalton Way

from Cockermouth to Seascale, West Cumbria

Nuclear Striders Publishers

£5.00

The John Dalton Way is an attractive (though little known) walk in the Lake District, established to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of John Dalton in 1766.

Dalton was a pioneer of atomic theory and was the first to recognise colour blindness, something he suffered from himself.
The 45km walk, in five easy stages, begins in the town of Cockermouth and finishes in Seascale on the coast, goes through the village of Eaglesfield (Dalton’s birthplace) and passes Calder Hill, the first commercial atomic power station in the world.
