Carlisle : Excavations at Rickergate, 1998-9 and 53-55 Botchergate, 2001 - Cumbria Archaeological Research Reports No. 2
Edited by Rachel Newman, Oxford Archaeology North
£18.00
The Cumbria Archaeological Research Reports, of which this is the second, are intended to bring into the public domain archaeological reports on sites within Cumbria that fall between a length suitable for a journal article and the size and nature of material appropriate for a free standing monograph.
Some may cover work that has taken years to write up whilst others, including this one, will put on record work that is current.
The Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society worked together with Oxford Archaeology North on this report that combines activity at two important sites in Carlisle, a city that has only recently been achieving the level of published material that its important archaeology merits.
